Investigating the Cosmos...
The Cosmology group at the University of Ioannina is led by Prof. L. Perivolaropoulos. Our basic goal is to address fundamental questions related to the theory of gravitational interactions by studying scenarios for the structure and the evolution of the Universe: Is General Relativity the correct theory of gravity at cosmological and sub-mm scales? What is the origin of the accelerated expansion of the Universe? What are the observational effects of scalar fields in cosmological and laboratory setups?
Since its formation in 2002 the group has developed significantly, producing high-quality research and expertise. In this site you can find our publication record, numerical codes as well as interesting projects that aim to address these fundamental questions about the Cosmos.

University of Ioannina, Physics Department
We work at the Physics Department of the University of Ioannina. More specifically at the Theoretical Physics Division.
The Department of Physics was founded in 1970, at the same time as the School of Physics & Mathematics and the operation of the University of Ioannina, as an independent University. The Department is currently housed in buildings F2 and F3, located in the western side of the University campus, about 4 km away from the Ioannina city centre.
